Fisher's Surgery

Fisher had to have surgery to move his little boy parts into the correct position. Fortunately, it was a very simple procedure, but it's never fun to see your little baby go under anesthesia. Meme watched Shepard for us, and we drove to Dallas Children's Hospital early in the morning. I was worried because Fisher wasn't allowed to have any food or drink after midnight, and this boy loves his breakfast. Luckily, he had enough distractions around him that he didn't seem to mind too much. Although he did keep checking his diaper bag for snacks and drinks. Gram and Pops met us at the hospital and helped us pass the time until surgery.

He did great the entire time, but got super upset when they put a heart rate monitor on his big toe. Thankfully, they let us take it off of him until it was time to go back for surgery. Right before they took him back, they gave him some medicine to make him loopy (which also helped so he wouldn't notice when mommy and daddy left). This was taken a few minutes afterwards.

Here we are in the recovery room, as he was coming off of the anesthesia. He threw up a couple of times, but was good to go after 30 minutes or so.

Snuggles with Mommy

He slept pretty much the whole two hours car ride home from the hospital, and then crashed on the floor right before bedtime. After a day or so, he was back to his happy self. So thankful that we were able to do this surgery before he remembers feeling so crummy.
